125th Anniversary Lunch
On 12th March 2022 Aldeburgh may have been rather surprised when an invasion of more than fifty ladies descended on the Wentworth Hotel and from noon onwards there was an extremely animated and pleasurable gathering of Old Felicians. The reason for choosing Aldeburgh was the fact that Saint Felix School started there in 1897 in a family house belonging to Margaret Isabella Gardiner before the move to Southwold – something that not all Old Felicians were aware of.
MADAME TABOIS
Mme Tabois lived in Southwold in the 1930s and seems to have been an artist with a studio near the harbour. Does anyone know anything about her?
ALEX LANGHAM
I am very sad to report the untimely death of Alex on 22nd March 2022 following an accident linked to his increasing problems with diabetes.
Anniversary Lunch - March 2022
The Old Felicians’ Club are holding a special lunch at the Wentworth Hotel, Aldeburgh, on Saturday 12 March 2022 to mark the 125th anniversary of the founding of Saint Felix School and the Old Felicians’ Club. Book your place now.
2021 Newsletter
First of all, we apologise for the fact that there will only be one newsletter this year. A combination of COVID and the changes at the school have set us back somewhat. For all of us, it has been the strangest of times since the last issue of the newsletter. We would love to hear about people’s experiences in lockdown, especially any upbeat or unusual stories.
Changes at the School
Saint Felix has been acquired by the Inspired Learning Group. How will that will affect the Club’s future and will changes be taking place?
AGM & Lunch: March 2020
As the day of the 119th AGM of the Old Felicians’ Club approached there were many telephone calls and emails enquiring ‘will it take place?’ as the country was in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic. But the years spent shivering on the freezing playing fields of Saint Felix or swimming in the unheated outdoor pool meant OFs were made of sterner stuff and so on 10th March 2020 the annual reunion took place in the magnificent setting of Fulham Palace.
